January

It's nearly the middle of February and no posts this year. January in review....

It started with the New Year spent at home playing games (Rummikub & Parcheesi)

We spent the night at my parent's when Uncle Sam came.
That night sleep was a challenging one
because Warren thought climbing out of the playpen (bed) was really quite fun.
I ended up climbing in to lie down right next to him
It worked for a few hours though my knees were bent into my chin
He woke around five and four
Went down to the kitchen to find Uncle Bub asleep on the floor
We got a drink
From the little ol'e sink
Went down to the room for a little more sleep
It worked for a tiny bit without making a peep
Around six or so we got up once more
Thank goodness for grandpa who came to the door
He took his little buddy down to the playroom and basement
While to the bedroom I happily went
Not wanting to disturb the king of the bed
I happily climbed in the playpen to rest my sleepy head
A few more hours of sleep were preciously spent
Until the cute little nieces voices went
As she came into the room she was wondering what I was doing in Warren's bed
I told her I needed a place to rest my little head
She smiled and laughed and thought that was fun
To see Aunt Ila in a bed made for someone that is one
Bless her heart she had been on Warren duty too.
Thank you Sierra you deserve new princess/basketball shoes

Kyle has been working on his project of course
And being Warren's favorite horse

A little more b-ball here and a little there
Clipping the coupons and shopping with them everywhere

Warren's starting to say a few phrases which is cute
He's becoming quite a tease and is a hoot

At the end of the month we went and house sat
And became substitute parents for 4 boys, 1 girl, a dog and a cat
Warren loved his new friends, the dog, and the kitty
That cat got a great workout running away from a boy who thought it was so pretty
I learned about some roles that will start in at least 3 or more years
The taxi driver, homework regulator, piano general, a new perspective for my eyes and ears
My sweet mother-in-law helped me bottle some chicken
We know it will be good and finger licken'
Bless her heart she finished it for us when we had to go
Poor little Warren was tuckered out falling asleep in a chair watching roll over and other songs you might know
Kyle enjoyed his commute everyday
And read stories each night to the princess as she drifted away

That about sums up our January
Oh what adventures that make our lives merry.

The things we do for our kids so they can get some sleep. You are a trooper Ila. Can't wait to see you in April.
