She grew up in Spanish Fork, Utah except for a 3-year hiatus in Tallahassee, Florida where her dad was mission president. She was also the only girl in the middle of 5 brothers.
Ila's name has been passed down from her grandma and mother. Ila has always been a sweet and dedicated person to her family and friends. She is always very positive and acts with faith in all that she does.
When she was younger she loved to be with her family and compete with her brothers. She enjoyed playing basketball all four years of high school and participated in track and tennis her Sr. year. After attending a little over a year at Snow and receiving her associates she headed to Southern Virginia University (SVU). While, at SVU she followed her dreams to play basketball in college and threw the Javelin. She later began running and joined the cross country team, which lead to a few long distance races at a few track meets.
After getting a degree from SVU in Recreational Management Ila served a Spanish speaking LDS mission to San Fernando Califormia. She loved her companions and the trials she faced being a missionary. When she returned home and started another degree at BYU in elementary and early childhood education. While at BYU she enjoyed her time serving at the temple, teaching at the MTC, and being friends with everyone she met. After completing her degree she taught one year of preschool. While teaching she applied for a dual endorsement program at BYU for Special Education and ESL. She was accepted to BYU and began teaching at Rees and Brockbank Elementary schools teaching Mild/Moderate Special Education. It was at this time she met me, Kyle.
